Memories—past and future—blur along a thin line between what has ceased to exist and what is yet to come. The present is shaped by our experiences and guided by the actions of an unknown future. But our perception of memory changes. This is what I feel now; this is how I felt then. The same memory shifts over time because we change. A Polaroid may be a snapshot of the past, but it, too, fades. It ages, wrinkles, and becomes fragile. They might be lost—or simply forgotten. But what is remembrance? Is it recalling the memory as it was, as we are now, or as we wish to be? Perhaps it's a bit of all three…
